Clothing dillemma... does spray paint come off clothes?

im having a little halloween problem


i have a costume that i needed to dye black


i bought the fabric dye


but it did not work at all on some parts of the costume i.e. the poofy part and ribbon parts





i was wondering if it were possible to spray paint it black???


also would it stay stiff because its what i heard


could i maybe spray paint it then hand wash it would it stay??

if the poofy part is a flimsy plastic like material...the paint may disolve it.


try a little corner of it first. The ribbon should be fine. what you can do is paint it in thin coats, and then let it dry completely and throw it in the dryer on high heat to break the hardness of it. But make sure it is completely dry first... even the underlayers or you will have a hellova mess in your dryer. I used to get spray paint on my clothes alot and it does not come out even with many washings

Not sure if u it would go stiff but you could look online 2 c if u could find a home made black fabric dye recipe or if there isnt much fabric u could use a black sharpie, black fabric marker, black paint to color the rest in
