Where can I find a DIY sign making kit for spray painting lettered signs?

Years ago I remember seeing a sign making kit that came with solid re-usable letters that you lay out on top of your sign, and then simply spray paint the entire sign leaving the unpainted part under the letters as the actual color of the letters on the sign. You could use the letters over and over again. They were letters not stencils. Say you wanted a white exit sign with red letters. You spray the entire sign in red, allow to dry and place the exit letters in place and paint the entire sign white, this leaves the red unpainted exit underneath. I saw these being used in a roller rink in the seventies, it came in a kit with all the reusable letters ect.Where can I find a DIY sign making kit for spray painting lettered signs?
