I have a large mirror, with a silver frame, but i want to spray paint it to make the frame gold, how??? help.?

I have done that a couple of times with real good results. Lay the mirror face down on a carpet and remove the glass from the back side. Now you have just the frame to lay face up on newspaper and spray with your choice of color. I use Krylon paints for most of my projects.I have a large mirror, with a silver frame, but i want to spray paint it to make the frame gold, how??? help.?
cover the actual mirror with tape, buy spray paint made just for furniture ( at lowes or home depot) then spraypaint it, let it dry and take the tape offI have a large mirror, with a silver frame, but i want to spray paint it to make the frame gold, how??? help.?
We recently did this for a mirror donated for decoration in the Youth Group's coffee house at church. Using masking tape, blue painter's tape or an easily removable tape, cover all the glass of the mirror. If there are large areas of glass, place old newspaper or the like over the glass and tape the edges to the glass, as close to the edge as you can. After all the glass is covered, spray paint the areas you desire. Allow the paint to dry well, probably at least 24 hours. Check the paint instructions to know for sure. Before removing the paper and tape, check to see if you want to paint the frame again with a second coat. When removing the tape, be careful not to pull paint on the tape off the mirror edge. If you think it will help, run a very sharp knife blade around the edge of the tape before removing it. Should you get any paint on the mirror glass, use a straight razor blade to scrape it off. I hope this helps and good luck with your project.
I would tape the mirror off with paper news paper or something ,tapes hard to get off the glass,go to HGTV. com they have all kinds of neat stuff on there and some video clips on how too .......Good Luck
