I just traded my friend for a guitar (boots for guitar awesome trade) and even though its just an average one. painted red, Fret bar (whatever its called) black sharpee colored in. and a little on the top. nd I removed the graphics (duct tape cough) and now I was thinking of taking it apart and spray painting it.
but would this mess up the guitar?
Thanks (sorry about long sentence)Spray paint a Guitar?
no it will not mess it up, I painted one last year turned out great.Spray paint a Guitar?
Yeah, you need special paint or it'll screw with the sound.
I did it with regular acrylic paint. There was no noticeable change in sound, but it didn't sound to great to begin with.
I wouldn't paint the fretboard though.
Remove the strings and tape the pick ups (if it has them) before hand.
beware the person who paints guitars, they risk eternal relegation to painter's hell, where a very big and very mean construction forman will yell at them while they are trying to raise a 60foot extention ladder alone in mud up to their waist on a hill side in the rain and sleet and just a general bad scene.
you can mess up the sound and tone by doing that, so don't.
I myself don't play guitar, but if you are to spray paint it make sure you scratch the painting area with something abrasive, so the paint has something to hold on to. A guitar is a pretty smooth surface...hope that helps a little.
Only thing I can think of is to remove the strings, but I'm sure you would do that anyways.
dude this would mess up the sound of the guitar so plz dont do it.
