You can but it will cost more $. Before you spray the final paint, be sure to clean the surface with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) to remove all wax and buildup. Because the automotive paint is more glossy than typcial house paint, it will show any imperfections. Make sure you fill all holes and sand thoroughly with a random orbital sander. I would then apply at least two coats of a good primer, sanding in between competely dried coats with 120 grit sandpaper. I would then use fine grit (50 or lower) to sand again lightly. Then, use a tack cloth to make sure all the dust is removed before applying the automotive paint.
Automotive guys acutally wet sand cars before applying paint with a super fine grit sandpaper. That automotive paint will show even sand groves left in the grain of the cabinets. Make sure it is like glass before applying paint. Can I spray cupboards with car paint(for high tech look) , %26amp; if so, what precautions should I take?

of course you can. Before working remove the cabinets from the kitchen and do it outside. no worries of fumes (if your asking to use auto paint I assume you have experience), and keeps the rest of the house cleaner. If they can airbrush anything no reason the paint won't hold so long as you clean the cupboards thoroughly. Good luck
yes. first clean very carefully--kitchen grease is the worst--then prime with a primer compatable with the paint
make sure to ventilate ventilate ventilate!!
make sure everything is masked and the overspray can't drift
(bright shiney paint dusting the wall to wall in the living room ain't pretty)
I don't see why not. I can't imagine it would look very good. You'd definitely want to look for a good primer that will accept the car paint. Use some common sense with the fumes. They are toxic and flammable.
