Spray paint hellp?

i have tried to spray paint metal many times and every time i do it just allwas scraches right off the surface i have tried cleaning surface very well, sanding it,small coats at a time,useing recommended paint, letting each coat dry before the next,and it allwas seems to peel off what am i doing rong?Spray paint hellp?
Spray paint is no good , it is much better to apply paint with a cigar roller.

Spraying paint gives layers of a ';powder coat';

This powder coating effect for 1, is just not thick enough and just lays down to get a bond.

Rolling a paint on gets much better adheashion .

Always scuff the surfaces with sand paper throughly , and then wipe the excess dust off with a wet rag of Acitone (finger nail polish remover)

I painted my whole Truck for under $40

People thing I spent a $1000 or more.

use some primer, relatively cheap stuff
scuff the paint before you spray
Try the spray paint brand Rust-O-Leum brand...Most of their paint is made to be stain on metal. Also, the temperature affects how well it sticks. Cold weather will make the paint spread apart from what i experienced. Don't spray too close otherwise it will be too wet and thick. There is also types of paint from other brans that are made for metal, Krylon also carries them.
You need to use a sealer/primer with bare metal. Make sure you sand it before painting.
