Spray Paint - A glossy, shiny Finsh?

Its for a project for school. I want to paint my entire project black using spray paint, but I want it to have a glossy, super shiny finish.

Do I have to spray two coats?

or is there something that can make the paint look shiny?

You are going to need two coats of glossy paint regardless if you use a clearcoat. There is a chance you may need three. The trick with spray painting is to do several thin coats. If you spray too much at once the paint is going to run.

There are spray paints that are labeled as to whether they will leave a glossy finish. Two coats are always better than one, whether you are using spray paint or regular paint....and use thin coats with the spray paint (as another answerer said) or it will run, leaving an uneven coverage. If you can avoid the spray paint, use a high gloss regular paint for the best type of glossy finish.....they come as either latex (water based) or oil based, which is harder to clean up afterward, but is the highest gloss type of paint.
you should probably get a separate can of clear gloss spray paint to spray over the black once that has dried. Sometimes something that is called polyurethane. those are usually in the same aisle.
If you want it ';super shiny'; you are going to need a couple of clear coats from a can of glossy clear finish.
