we spray painted the kitchen table and chairs black it dried and now when we wipe it with a paper towel the black residue comes off what can i do i don't want people to sit on the chairs and have black pants after helpI spray painted kitchen table black passed a paper towel over it after dry and black residue comes off help?
I would paint over it with Minwax庐 Polycrylic庐. It comes in different sheens (glossy, semi-gloss, flat, etc.). You can buy it at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Etc. They have spray can and brush on.

Did you sand the table and chairs first. If not, you might want to start over and sand or rough it up so the paint will stick. Depanding on the texture of the table you might have to sand all the wax(shine) off, almost to the bare wood. Sounds like a lot of work and it is, but the results can be worth it. Have fun.
WTH would you spray paint your dining room table anyway?!





I would suggest going to a discount store and buying a new table/chairs.





Anyway to help you, I'd say go to a paint store and buy some real paint, not spray paint, enamal, and put it over the black.
Try using lacquer. It also works.
