if i just put a little grease on the moving parts, can i just spray the whole thing? spokes/brakes/pedals and all?
it's a thrift store junker, so i'm not looking for it to look good/correct, i just want it to be uniform, just cover everything up.
but of course it still has to ride...Can i spray paint my entire bike?
Yes. Been there done that. Put plastic bags on the hand grips and saddle. You probably don't want paint on your hands or clothes.
I did one like that in Rustoleum brown and refrigerator avocado (camo pattern) for my niece to take to college. So ugly, no one would steal it.Can i spray paint my entire bike?
Yes, you can. With a little work it can look pretty good too. I would remove the wheels, cover and/or tape anything that isn't supposed to have paint on it and go to town with a glossy can of spray paint. I completely stripped down an old road bike and painted the frame with glossy black and you can't even tell that it's not the original color. Just watch those runs.
As long as you know how to use a spray can, haha, in all seriousness though, you may want to think about getting sand paper to smooth anything rough, and masking tape to give it a more professional look, if that's what you are going for.
Known around here as a ghetto paint job, go for it, it'll never look great but at least it'll be colourfull. (don't get paint near the tyres or brake blocks, the solvents in the paint will trash them!)
yes you can. paint away. some of my favorite paint jobs were when I left my bike together. flat colors are the best because they hide the most imperfections. get wild with it.
go for it
