Will touch lamp still work if spray painted?

Previous owners left behind a brass touch lamp that has attractive lines, but brass will not match our d茅cor. If we spray paint it, will the touch part still work? I tried Google, and the only related entry I found gave no definitive answer. I want to paint it black. Has anyone tried this?

(I realize we could just experiment since it was a freebie, but if I can find out for sure it won鈥檛 work we鈥檒l just use it in my husband鈥檚 office where I don鈥檛 have to see it.)Will touch lamp still work if spray painted?
it will not because in a touch lamp the reason it changes when you touch it is you are the ground to the metal. the electronics senses the touch to the metal. if you paint it you will not be touching the metal directly. leave a spot on the back or on the shade unpainted and you can touch it in that spotWill touch lamp still work if spray painted?
Not sure.

You could A) buy one at like goodwill and test it out. or B) just do it and see what happens or C) just give it to your husband.

If you really really like it try A first. If it's not that big of a deal just give it to your husband. Really no point in ruining a good lamp if it works good.
Ask a Lamp Specialist
Thats a NO! But what you can do is paint the lamp and leave a small part (say 1 inch circle) ';unpainted'; like on the back of the lamp were you guest cant see and just touch there to turn the lamp on!
I guess it depends on how the lamp is made. I have spray painted one and it did work. I guess it also depends on the type of paint you use.

How to do Car Touch Up Spray Painting?

Hi, please help me I've never done any car painting and I would like to fix my trunk lid: http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/5834/carpaintmq9.jpg

Can someone please give me some instructions on what to buy, how much I should pay for each, and the steps I should follow? Someone recommended sandpaper, primer, spray paint, buffer, but I have no idea which to use first and why, and which is absolutely necessary. I would greatly appreciate it if you could show me some simple step by step procedures to get this done. It doesn't have to look perfect, I just want to make it less obvious. Thanks! How to do Car Touch Up Spray Painting?
If the lid is rusted you will have to use the sandpaper and primer if the paint is faded or oxidized then just use the maroon scotchbrite pads from the auto store scuff the lid so the paint will adhere. if using can spraypaint then spray in one direction to cover the lid then go the opposite in order to get greater coverage. Spray untill it is even let dry, spray again if neccessary if not maybe hit it with a clear coat paint.

1.The sandpaper will remove the rust

2.primer will prevent the rust from re-appearing

How much would you be to get a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 to get spray painted white?

in my garage the starting rate is 拢1500 but it depends on alot of things, such as is it already white? do you want inside the doors and under the bonnet etc done, is there any damage to any panels that would need doing, blah blah blah so you could well be looking anywhere between 拢1500-拢2500How much would you be to get a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 to get spray painted white?
i would suggest you shop around, but only change your color if you so choose. you could go bottom-of-the-barrel, say $100-200, or you could have a truly top-notch spray, say $1000+. that really will be tailored to your budget %26amp; needs. any shop you look into would be more than happy to show you their work, as they should have vehicles on site. How much would you be to get a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 to get spray painted white?
white is cheap to paint but boring. ask around for quotes from different shops. pearl black with copper metallic flakes is sweet.
thats a hard question to answer just the material alone for my harley was 200. with prep %26amp;materils any good job will be at least 1000. only way to know for sure is shop around

  • How do you block other peoples spray paints in left 4 dead?

Block peoples spays in l4d? ah...spray over them? lul its kinda a..very..open...question...

and if your talking about making it so they DONT appear i think there is an option in the ah...options menu...though im not about to launch it up to look causers im lazyHow do you block other peoples spray paints in left 4 dead?
There are a few things you can try. Finding servers that do not support them is one option, but that usually forces you to play on servers with other modifications which might alter gameplay.

Check your options menu, Valve have included an option for denying sprays in the past.

Check the command list. This is a last ditch effort, as you'll need to have the developer console enabled and input a command every time you connect to a server, but if it bugs you that much, go for it.

Spray paint on a fitted cap/ hat?

i want to do a stencil on a fitted hat ( 80% Acrylic %20 Wool) baseball flat rim style hat. What kind of spray paint will stay on the hat. And also, i need a paint that if sprayed where the stencil shows, it wont continue to soak thru to other areas outside the stencil as to mess up the design.Spray paint on a fitted cap/ hat?
i think regular spray paint will stay but ask around in Michael's or Joann's to see if they have anything better (try higher quality art stores)

also tape around the stencil so it stays in place/ paint won't get everywhere else (you could also cover the rest of the hat w/ a paper towel etc.)Spray paint on a fitted cap/ hat?
Get fabric paint from a crafts store like Michaels.

    Spray paint onto metal?

Hi. I just bought new snowboard bindings and I've been trying to customize them by redesigning them with some tape and spray paint. The problem is that there are parts of my bindings that are metal and the paint won't stick well. I talked to my dad and he said I should get a *compound?* spray first, and then spray on the other paint. Can anyone explain this technique? Or is there a metal specific paint I should purchase? Please and thanks.Spray paint onto metal?
Sand the metal bindings a little, before spraying.

Should I voice my opinion in the form of spray painting?

I'm really inspired by Rise Against's video Give it all. I really want to start being active and being an activist and I want to start voiceing my messages through spray paint on the walls of the city I live in. Tell me your opinions please!Should I voice my opinion in the form of spray painting?
I don't think you would do your cause any favors by committing crimes on their behalf.Should I voice my opinion in the form of spray painting?
As long as you allow citizens who catch you to spray paint you with permanent purple dye. I seriously think that should happen to you.
I have a nephew who is being charged with 20 counts of doing JUST that...and his legal bills are scary.

    Jail is not fun.

Maybe an art class would be better use of the creative juice?
Love that song, Rise Against was so much better back then. And graffiti is awesome, so I think you definitely should.
Sure! Nothing says activism like scrawling on walls! Let me guess... Upset with the social elite? Feel you're not understood? Set yourself apart by spraying away! No one will see THAT coming!
As long as your painting is on your own property then go for it. Don't paint mine though because if I catch you your *ss is grass.
You want to express yourself through vandalism ... I don't think that's a great idea.
Go ahead. if you get caught though, don't cry about it.

    though i would suggest flyers
    hm?
